AWK maintains a drilling division that consists of 8 drill rigs for environmental and geotechnical subsurface exploration. We have completed over 1,000 environmental/geotechnical/remediation projects since the company was established over 35 years ago. A majority of these projects involved a government agency (federal, state, county, or city) and the tasks were completed to exacting federal (USEPA, USACE, OSHA) or state standards, policies, and procedures. Some projects involved site investigations of landfills, hazardous waste sites, and Underground Storage Tanks (UST’s), while others involved building additions, highways and bridges, tunnel repair, and locks and dam rehabilitation. Our drilling crews are trained by OSHA hazardous waste standards. Additionally,  AWK is pre-qualified with PennDOT and has an open end agreement with Allegheny County for landslide remediation.
